To all my students and their families, Have a wonderful Summer Vacation! MPES will be closed until July 22nd. A that time the office staff and administration will return and begin gearing up for the upcoming 08-09 school year. · First day of school for 1st – 5th grade is Tuesday, August 12th, with the first bell ringing at 9:00. Students are to line up and meet their teacher outside (just like last year). · Kindergarten students will begin at the same time on Thursday, August 14th · Registration will be August 7th from 8:00 – 12:00 in the classrooms. We will have the class lists posted in the cafeteria as soon as possible after July 22nd. Please remember your child must be current with their vaccinations and we must have a copy of the shot record for their file. Parks & Rec is being held at MPES during the summer so don’t be surprised to see all sorts of activities going on throughout the summer. We are also hosting a Hip-Hop class every Tuesday night from 6:00 – 8:00pm in the gym. All children ages 5 – 15 are invited. Each class is only $6.00 and you may pay as you go. Please call Ernest at 712-2572 for more information. Parents, I am asking you to please remember to have your child reading aloud to you every night for at least 15 minutes. This is by far the easiest and best thing you can do for your child during the summer. So enjoy your time off, be safe, keep reading, and come back to me healthy, rested, and ready to go!
