Dear Parents and/or Guardians:

The APS Transportation Department and Associate Superintendent’s Office has consulted with me about an adjustment  in our start and end times at Matheson Park ES.  We will be adjusting our start time to 7:45 AM and our end time to 1:50 PM effective Tuesday Sept. 6, 2011.

This adjustment will not affect bus transportation times in the morning.  Students will still arrive at school at 7:30 AM.  Duty personnel will still be on duty at 7:30 AM.  It will mean a shorter time on the playground before school starts which we believe will be safer and better for students as the days get shorter and the weather gets colder.  We will still have parent drop off in the back of the school starting at 7:30 AM as well.  We do encourage you to get your child to school before 7:45 every day.  Before and after school programs remain the same as well.

The adjustment will affect transportation times in the afternoon.  Students will arrive home about 5 – 10 minutes earlier than they have the past two weeks if they ride the bus or walk home.  If you pick up your child (in the north/rear parking lot only please), please arrive prior to 1:50 pm.

Thank you for your cooperation.  We want children to be on time to school as well as make sure they are safe after school.
