October News
Welcome to all visitors! Our web-page is growing and improving daily. Make sure to check our new calendar; there are lots of things happening this month.
October is already here, the temperature is dropping, and hot-air balloons are everywhere you look. These things always give me a sense of peace. This Friday the 5th, 2 hot-air balloons will be launching from our playground. We’ve been told between the hours of 7:00am and 9:00am. I invite everyone and friends to come enjoy the morning with us.
My apologies to Ms. Corinne Weis; her name was left out of our last newsletter announcing new staff. She is a kindergarten teacher, and we are thrilled to have her.
6 week progress reports went home Friday, September 28. These reports are to let you know how well your child is progressing. If you are not used to reading a standards-based report card, please call and make an appointment to visit with your teacher. We will be installinag a new voice-mail system for our staff very soon.
Please take a peek at our calendar. Things are popping up quickly, and we are trying to keep it current as things come up. Please ask your child’s teacher about helping out at the Fall Carnival this year. “Many hands make light work…” and truly this is a time we need many hands. Our PTA is working hard to support our teachers and students, and the carnival is a time when they need several hands.
We found out that at our last Applebee’s Night we had approximately 80 people there! I can’t tell you how pleased the store is with our participation. The General Manager there is very excited to be working with Matheson Park, and we are thrilled to have him. Our next night there is Wednesday, October 24. Again I will be inviting the teachers and staff to join me as I meet and greet all of you that night.
Remember, no school on Monday, October 8 due to Fall Break. Red Ribbon week is this month, more details as they are finalized, but it is during the week of the 22nd – 26th.
Mr. Maresca
