New Kindergarten Teacher
January 2008
Dear Parents, It saddens me to have to share this news but we had to say farewell to Ms. Weis. A position that allowed Ms. Weis to be very close to her elderly father came available, and after much consideration, Ms. Weis decided to accept the position. Below is a letter introducing our wonderful new teacher, Ms Jones.
Stephen Maresca
Principal
As a teacher as well as a parent I know that learning starts in the home. You are your child’s first teachers and you know your child so well. It is important we work together to make this school year successful for your child. With this in mind, I am asking you for ten (10) minutes of your time to introduce your child to me. We can do this in person (my preference) or by phone if necessary. Here are some questions I’d like you to answer about your child:
- What is your child really interested in?
- What does your child like best about school?
- How does your child get along with other children?
- What do I need to know to be a better teacher for your child?
- What hobby or talent would you like to share with my students?
This will also give me a chance to introduce myself to you and answer questions you may have concerning your child.
Thanking you in advance for your time.
Sincerely,
Bronwyn E. Jones
